Sprint 2 — Client Meeting
Date: February 13th, 2026
Authentication and Access
- The current user approval process is manual through the admin panel.
- A possible improvement is to pre-approve users using the university database of students and alumni.
- The client will check with the IT department regarding database access and integration feasibility with SSO.
- We discussed possible solutions for password recovery, including using Telegram or adding alternative authentication methods after the initial login.
Platform Purpose and Event Management
- The main goal of the platform is to allow alumni to independently create and join events, supporting a more autonomous community.
- Unlike Telegram chats or channels, the platform should make event discovery easier and prevent events from being lost in large chat discussions.
- Events could be automatically approved by default, while admins monitor and remove inappropriate events if necessary.
- A reporting system for problematic events may be considered in the future.
Features and Future Improvements
- Potential success metrics include community engagement and number of events created or attended.
- The platform could also include university or partner events to increase activity.
- Feature ideas discussed:
- Follow feature to receive updates about people’s activities.
- Location-based notifications for events.
- Optional automatic location updates (with user consent) to keep event recommendations relevant.
- During the system migration, the team will inform the client if downtime is required so users can be notified.
